Who Am I ?
Who am I? I wish I could answer that with certainty, but I don’t think many people could find a definitive answer about themselves. Even for those who believe they do, the answer will always be temporary—because we always change. To my mind, the best way to understand a person is through their actions, not in terms of act or gesture, but life-built sequences of what that person does. Again, can we call our opinion about ourselves non-prejudiced and true? Most of the time, our perception of ourselves is far from what people see in us. So, the best way to express myself to you would be to write my perspective on things I love to do, which are art, and architecture. So let’s start:
Right after birth, we are automatically creators, and our project, first of all, is ourselves. The things we create, in turn, form us. Like in sculpture with every move, intentional or not, the sculpture changes. Not every material is patchable, and there are things you can’t rewind, especially if you work with rare and expensive materials, like bronze, gold, or granite – and on the universal scale—humans are rare.
So, it happened that my tools for shaping and creating myself are architecture and art. Architecture is art in itself—or at least, in the right hands, it can be. I never separate art and architecture because they are intertwined and do not exist without one another. In them, I find the flexibility to create things, which in the process shape me, and then my creations bring opportunities for observers to form.
